NEET Qualification: As per the 2019 NMC guidelines, Indian students must qualify for NEET before going abroad for MBBS.

Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE):

If students want to come back to India and practice as a doctor, they need to qualify for the FMGE, which is conducted NBE.

FMGE is a screening test, and a minimum qualifying 50% marks is required.

After passing, students can register with the State Medical Council and begin practising.

NEXT Exam: The Indian government has now replaced FMGE with the National Exit Test (NEXT). It will be common for both Indian and foreign medical graduates for licensing and PG admissions which students are required to qualify.
